What is/Who are Spiritual Seekers?

WHO: Seekers are those who are on a journey of discovery. Actually, most of us want to slow down enough, not to seek, but to be found but the God who loves us. The Seekers are not a group or a club. Anyone who is authentically seeking the living God, is most welcome.

WHAT: Our gatherings are a time of Sabbath ... a time and place to rest and remember our communion with our loving God.

If you think of the story of Jesus in the Boat with the disciples ... typically we focus on waves and storm, and how Jesus calms them. But why is it never enough for us to just be in the boat with the Christ. This simple reality is our life. And this is why we gather, to take time to be in the Boat (where we always are, anyway) ... but we forget.

During these pandemic times, we are gathering online on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, online, using the Zoom platform.

MINI-RETREAT
On the 1st Saturday of the month, we gather for a 2 hour mini-retreat from 10am-Noon for a mixture of teaching, sharing, prayer, usually including a silent contemplative "sit." The teachings are usually an organic mix by the likes of Fr. Richard Rohr, Thomas Merton, Cynthia Bourgeault, James Finley, and others. These teachings might be an article, prayer, video, or audio presentation and are usually breath-giving to the newcomer and challenging to the veteran seeker.

COFFEE HOUR
On the 3rd Saturday of the month, gather for a more casual time of connection and prayer. A change to check in with one another and remind ourselves and each other that we jouney together.

OTHER EVENTS
There are often other events happening, hosted by fellow-Seekers.
Currently, there is a weekly online contemplative "sit" on Wednesday evenings at 6pm, as well as 2 book clubs, and a bi-weekly gathering during Lent 2021 on the Satursday mornings when Seekers are not meeting.
